Student Tutor - SOCIO​/GERO​/SAS

Position Overview

This is a regular student tutor position which will provide in-person academic tutoring to students while maintaining an effective and positive learning environment.

5-20 hours per week. Flexible schedule between 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday.

Student tutor for SOC 4043/5043 – Sociological Statistics and/or SOC 4773/5773 – Sociological Statistics:
Assist students in understanding course material presented in class and/or online, support the instructor in various capacities to enhance student comprehension and learning. Must be personable, communicate abstract ideas clearly, have excellent communication skills, patience, and a flexible schedule. Confidentiality is required.

All student employees must be enrolled at least half-time: graduates 5 credits, undergraduates 6 credits. International students must be full-time (9 credits for graduates, 12 for undergraduates). Summer positions require minimum 3 credit hours (regular), 6 for undergraduates or 5 for graduates for Federal Work Study. Exceptions available with advisor letter.

• Completed SOC 4043/5043 – Sociological Statistics and/or SOC 4773/5773 – Sociological Research.
• Good written and verbal skills.
• Flexible scheduling for tutoring sessions.
