Position Overview
This is an off-campus, Federal Work Study Program (FWSP) student tutor position with the America Reads program in which college students provide in-person tutoring to preschool and elementary-aged children. The position worksite is not on the UCO Campus. A valid driver’s license is required.
The America Reads program, through the Donna Nigh Department of Advanced Professional and Special Services (DNAPSS) within the College of Education and Professional Studies (CEPS), employs college students to tutor preschool through elementary-aged children toward improving literacy through one-on-one reading support.
Hours per WeekUp to 25 hours per week. Work will be performed during public school hours. No weekends.
ResponsibilitiesProvide in-person academic tutoring to students during public school hours or after-school programs while maintaining an effective and positive learning environment.
Qualities & Requirements- Valid, active driver’s license.
- Can read English fluently.
- Enjoys and interacts well with primary-age children.
