Adjunct positions at UCO are part-time teaching positions.
This posting is to create a pool of interested applicants from which the Department may draw as sections become open at any point in the current academic year. This posting may or may not result in the hiring of adjuncts.
Adjunct Faculty - provides a quality learning experience for students on a semester basis. Adjunct faculty reports to a dean or chair and performs instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college.
The relationship of the adjunct faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions- Supervision of student teachers, working with mentor teachers, principals, coordinator of clinical experiences, and the director of teacher education.
- Conduct a minimum of three supervision visits with each student teacher assigned per semester.
- Guide and direct completion of all tasks. Report student progress through observation, assessment, and evaluation, and assist with improvements when needed.
- Assist with difficulties, concerns, and problems of assigned student teachers, principals and mentor teachers.
- Attend meetings scheduled by direct supervisor. Interact collegially with all persons involved in the student teaching experience.
- Follow all policies, procedures, and timelines established.
- Respect a diverse student and faculty population with the school sites served. Monitor the effectiveness of partnership schools where students are assigned and attend to other duties as assigned.
- Prepare and teach an assigned class following a syllabus guideline.
- Maintain appropriate records, assign earned grades, report needed data to the department, and complete all necessary department assessment information.
- At least a master's degree in the field specified in the position announcement.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- A current certification in the State of Oklahoma and minimum of five years teaching experience within public school settings.
- Prior experience in school administration or in the supervision of teachers (principal, department chair, etc.).
- Professionally qualified.
