Outdoor Adventure Assistant; Labor - Boathouse at Arcadia Lake

Special Information for Applicants

This student position will work at the Boathouse at Arcadia Lake, not the main UCO campus.

This student position requires heavy, physical and manual labor. The role may involve moving furniture, working outside on grounds, and/or helping with preventative maintenance.

• Up to 25 hours per week during Fall/Spring semesters.
• Up to 35 hours per week during Summer semesters.
• Evening and weekend work required.

The Outdoor Recreation student assistant is responsible for helping with programs and events associated with recreation programs. These responsibilities are paramount to the overall success of the programs and services offered by the department.

• Enforce all Department of Wellness and Sport policies and procedures.
• Exhibit excellent customer service skills.
• Show a willingness to go out of their way for others.

• Set up for events.
• Communicate with participants and vendors on a regular basis.
• Organize and clean equipment.

Fall/Spring Semesters:
All student employees must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible to work any UCO student position. Half‑time enrollment for fall/spring semesters is considered 5 hours for graduates and 6 hours for undergraduates. International students must be enrolled full-time.

Summer Semester:
Students working regular student positions must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours. Students not enrolled in summer classes must be enrolled in fall classes to work during the summer. Students working FWSP positions must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours (undergraduate) or 5 credit hours (graduate) to work during the summer.

Enrollment Exception:
If the number of credit hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum number required for student employment, the student must obtain a letter from their Academic Advisor and submit it to Human Resources. This pertains to both regular and Federal Work Study Program positions.
