Position Overview
The Department of History and Geography at the University of Central Oklahoma seeks applications for a full‑time, non‑tenure track (blended) lecturer in history beginning in August 2026. The course load is 5/5, 15 credit hours per semester, with at least 50 % taught online. The successful candidate will be expected to teach five courses at all undergraduate levels, including History of the United States to 1877, History of the United States since 1877, and Oklahoma history.
Responsibilities- Teach five undergraduate courses, including the required U.S. and Oklahoma history courses.
- Collaborate with colleagues and professional peers.
- Participate in university meetings that relate specifically to faculty.
- Serve on department, college, and university committees as requested.
- Prepare departmental reports as requested.
- Earned MA in history or a related field (required).
- PhD in history or a related field (preferred) from a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution.
