Before/After Care Director
Temporary Contract/District Scale for Before/After School Care Directors. 173 Days per year 1 to 4 Hours per day
Job Goal:
Organize, over-see and facilitate the school age child care program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain a quality school age child care program.
- Supervise teaching staff.
- Assist them in developing activities for children of daycare program.
- Work directly with children in program.
- Perform financial/bookkeeping activities for program including: collecting and receipting money, record keeping of individual accounts, making deposits, ordering supplies and snacks, reviewing and approving invoices for payment, and producing monthly financial report.
- Pursue collections on past due accounts.
- Maintain teacher time cards and create alternate plans when employee is absent so that position is covered and children's needs are met.
- Meet with parents as needed to deal with concerns and problems, resolve conflicts.
- Serve as time clock supervisor for Before/After Care staff.
- Dispense medication to children in accordance with school board policy.
- Direct and maintain physical environment of child care center areas ensuring safety and security.
- Provide appropriate information to principal/assistant principal for daycare needs.
- Ensure compliance with all DHS requirements for licensure.
- Lock and secure building at the end of daycare program each day.
- Interview and recommend daycare candidates for vacant positions.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Length of
Contract:
One Hundred Seventy Four (174) contract days. Salary commensurate with experience on the negotiated agreement of the Support Employees of Edmond (SEE).
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Building Principal in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policies, state law, and the negotiated agreement with the Support Employees of Edmond (SEE).
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The director will be the supervisor of all Before/After personnel.
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree Required.
- Oklahoma Teaching Certificate.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to plan budgets and use the mathematical skills required to do so.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to use computer and computer related programs and other technologies needed to perform essential job functions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community.
- Ability to organize and chair or facilitate committees and meetings.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form.
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
