Adjunct Instructor, Human Anatomy or Physiology Labs - ) - PTT
Under the general direction and supervision of Program Chairs, the Adjunct Lab Instructor instructs students in Anatomy and Physiology labs, follows the course outline, uses approved lab manuals, and implements teaching strategies. The instructor monitors and evaluates student progress, maintains accurate records, and reports progress to the lead instructor.
Essential Functions- Facilitate labs in assigned subject areas according to course objectives, using a variety of instructional strategies.
- Provide student evaluation and record‑keeping, administering lab assessment instruments and maintaining attendance, achievement, and progress records.
- Manage classroom policies: develop, revise, and maintain them.
- Perform other teaching assignments, including using a computer as an instructional tool for teaching reading, writing, and composition skills and preparing supply orders, course schedules, and reports.
- Promote a culture of belonging, supporting policies and programming related to access, fair employment, and equal opportunities.
- Maintain lab safety.
- Perform assigned duties in other divisions or programs as required.
- Work varied days, hours, shifts, and locations as needed; schedules may vary per College needs.
- Current knowledge and ability to teach/facilitate science labs.
- Ability to relate to colleagues, staff, students, and supervisors from diverse backgrounds.
- Effective communication skills (written, verbal, phone).
- Ability to develop and incorporate diverse teaching strategies and techniques in classroom and lab.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to lift and carry up to fifty pounds and move equipment when necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree in a bioscience or physiological science discipline.
- Master’s degree in a bioscience or physiological science discipline.
