Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Assistant Superintendent, Educational Services is responsible for leading, planning, organizing, directing, and managing the District's instructional programs for Preschool through 8th Grade, including, but not limited to:
- Developing and implementing system-wide improvement strategies.
- Ensuring the implementation of inclusive and culturally responsive curriculum and instructional programs.
- Ensuring effective learning opportunities and growth experiences for all students.
- Overseeing research, assessment, and program evaluation strategies.
- Providing professional development programs that are consistent with District goals, objectives, and improvement strategies.
- Leading, planning, organizing, and managing the development and implementation of the District's Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP).
- Providing direct input into the District's Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) budget plan, including the supplemental grant.
- Supporting the recruitment, selection, and evaluation of principals, Educational Services department certificated and classified staff members, and other leadership staff members.
- Preparing and assisting in the development and implementation of Board policies, administrative regulations, and strategies for achieving the District's goals and objectives.
- Serving as a member of the Superintendent's Executive Cabinet.
