The front desk sets the tone for every client who walks through our doors — and the Front Desk Leader sets the tone for the front desk. This is a hybrid role: part of your day you are on the floor greeting clients, running the appointment book, and handling check-in and checkout like any great coordinator. The rest of your day, you are leading the team that does the same — coaching, scheduling, and holding the standard that makes Boardroom feel like Boardroom.
WhoWe Are
Established in 2004, Boardroom Salon for Men is the recognized leader in upscale men's grooming. We are not a chain haircut shop — we are a premium experience. Our members expect consistency, craft, and a level of service that reflects the quality of the company they keep. As Front Desk Leader, you will be the person who protects that standard every single shift.
WhatYou'll Do
As a working leader, your day blends hands-on coordinator duties with team leadership:
- Work the front desk directly — greet clients, manage the floor, and handle check-ins, check- outs, and payment processing
- Own the appointment calendar and keep scheduling running smoothly across all chairs
- Recruit, train, schedule, and coach the front desk coordinator team
- Set the daily tone on the floor — lead by example during peak hours and step in wherever the team needs support
- Monitor and manage Front Desk Team performance and client experience, and address service gaps in real time
- Serve as one of two leadership roles responsible for the salon, sharing accountability for its day-to-day operation
- Resolve escalated client concerns with calm confidence and good judgment
- Partner with salon leadership on staffing needs, front desk procedures, and process improvement
- Oversee opening and closing procedures and hold the team accountable to them
- Keep the lobby, retail display, and front desk area immaculate and well-stocked
- Prior management or supervisory experience in the spa, salon, or hospitality industry (required)
- Experience running a front desk, guest services, or reservations team preferred
- Genuine warmth and the ability to make anyone feel welcome — this cannot be faked
- A natural coach — you can train a new hire, give real-time feedback, and hold a standard without losing the team's trust
- Calm and composed under pressure — busy Saturdays and a short-staffed shift do not rattle you
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable with salon or reservation software
- Polished professional appearance and strong verbal and written communication
- Flexible availability including evenings and weekends
- Competitive hourly or salaried pay + earned monthly performance bonus
- 401(k) retirement plan
- Health, dental, vision, and disability insurance (after 90 days, full-time)
- Paid time off and paid holidays (after 90 days, full-time)
- Employee discounts on all products and services
- A leadership role with real influence over the client experience and the team you build
- A team environment where you are supported, recognized, and valued — not just another headcount
