SummaryOversees the coordination of all line production activities by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Oversees start-up and set-up.
- Coordinates all daily activities with supervisors.
- Makes sure products are being run correctly (quality, packaging).
- Assures product wholesomeness.
- Communicates with Quality, Maintenance, Second shift production and Sanitation.
- Responsible for answering unfavorable variances with the plant.
- Responsible for USDA concerns.
- Takes care of employee issues and human resource issues.
- Schedules employees for company meetings (i.e. hearing tests, 401K sessions, etc.).
- Coordinates rework.
- Makes sure everyone is notified of schedule changes (production, maintenance, supply, and QC).
- Ensures standards are met for every product.
- This is a safety sensitive position.
Manages superintendents and up to eight subordinate supervisors. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or ExperienceBachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning AbilitySolve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software;
Payroll systems;
Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
