POSITION OVERVIEW
The Development director is responsible for leading and managing strategic fundraising plans to secure financial support through grants, corporate partnerships, individual donors, fundraising campaigns, special events, and community engagement initiatives for Arise Single Moms. The position also oversees donor communications, stewardship, and relationship building to ensure long‑term support for the organization’s programs and services to single moms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop and implement a comprehensive annual fundraising plan, including major gifts, corporate sponsor ships, grants, and special events. This includes maintaining and enhancing our current annual development plan.
- Work with executive director to implement fundraising strategy.
- Identify and pursue new funding opportunities and revenue streams.
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with major donors, sponsors, and community partners.
- Strengthen current donor relationships and foster connections with new event attendees.
- Oversee donor communications, recognition programs, and retention strategies.
- Manage donor database and ensure accurate tracking of contributions and engagement.
- Lead grant writing and reporting processes for foundations and corporate entities.
- Oversee fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives, including annual drives and special events.
- Serve as an ambassador for the organization in the community, representing the organization at events, meetings, and public engagements.
- 4+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising or development.
- Proven track record of securing major gifts and meeting fundraising goals.
- Skilled communicator and relationship-focused leader.
- Technologically savvy and knowledgeable including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Apps, CRM management system (Donor Perfect).
- Ability to listen to others and communicate honestly, responsibly and professionally; verbally, written, and electronically.
- Skillful at building strong new and lasting relationships, networking, and stewarding a portfolio of contacts.
- High level of professionalism, diplomacy, and accountability.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Possess a growth mindset: the willingness to be coached to increase effectiveness, collaboration, and produce results.
- Foster a culture of integrity, service, adaptability, innovation, and responsibility.
- $62, (depending on experience)
