Development Officer - Athletics

DEVELOPMENT OFFICER - ATHLETICS ADVANCEMENT

The University of Oklahoma Foundation, Inc. reports to the Director of Development, Athletics Advancement. The Development Officer will manage a portfolio of major gift donors ($25,000+) to raise funds for the strategic priorities of the University of Oklahoma Athletics Department, including seat‑related contributions for OU Athletics events.

Responsibilities:

• Solicit and procure philanthropic gifts, including facility, program, planned, scholarship, and premium seating commitments.
• Continuously seek private fundraising opportunities for OU Athletics.
• Collaborate closely with Athletics Advancement team members, OU Foundation colleagues, and athletic department leadership to implement fundraising strategy and meet goals.
• Maintain regular communication and stewardship with major donors.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
• At least one year of experience in fundraising, sales, nonprofit, higher education, and/or communications.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time and work occasional evenings and weekends.
• Commitment to an on‑site role in Norman, Oklahoma.

This is a full‑time, negotiable‑salary position, reporting to the Director of Development, Athletics Advancement.
