THE OPPORTUNITY
A growing industrial manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead its Quality Assurance function at its Catoosa, Oklahoma facility. This is a senior, site‑facing QA role with responsibility for governance, compliance, and continuous improvement, working closely with plant leadership, operations, and customers.
This position is firmly Quality Assurance focused - quality control is handled by a separate team. The successful candidate will balance ISO and compliance rigor with strong communication and collaboration, acting as a partner to the plant rather than an enforcer.
ROLE OVERVIEWYou will own and lead the site Quality Management System, with responsibility for ISO compliance, PSM‑related documentation, procedures, audits, and customer quality issues. You will be expected to provide clear leadership on quality standards while working pragmatically with plant managers and supervisors to drive sustainable improvements without unnecessary bureaucracy.
An early focus area for this role will be improving labeling compliance across the facility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Own, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (ISO 9001)
- Lead ISO compliance activities, audits, and interactions with external auditors
- Own quality‑related PSM documentation, work instructions, and procedures
- Manage customer complaints end‑to‑end, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, close‑out, and communication
- Write, manage, and track nonconformances and corrective/preventive actions
- Develop and monitor KPIs, metrics, and quality performance dashboards
- Partner closely with plant managers and supervisors to support quality initiatives without disrupting operations
- Ensure quality governance while avoiding unnecessary reinvention of existing processes
- Lead internal audits, follow‑ups, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain document control systems and quality records
- Travel up to approximately 30% to support audits, suppliers, and other sites as required
- One direct report on site (Quality Specialist - administrative and system support)
- Works collaboratively with an additional quality team member based in Houston
- Reporting line:
Quality Specialist → Quality Manager → Director → VP - QA responsibility only; QC is managed separately
- Proven experience in a Quality Assurance leadership role within manufacturing or industrial environments
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 systems and audit processes
- Experience developing and using KPIs, metrics, and quality reporting tools
- Solid root cause analysis and corrective action experience
- Comfortable working directly with auditors, plant managers, and supervisors
- Strong communicator with a collaborative, pragmatic leadership style
- PSM experience preferred but not mandatory
- Able to balance compliance requirements with operational realities
- Competitive base salary
