We are seeking an experienced and detail-driven Quality Assurance Supervisor to lead quality operations at our Oklahoma City mattress manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for ensuring every mattress and component that leaves the plant meets company standards, industry regulations, and customer expectations. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader who can identify issues before they become problems, drive corrective actions, and hold the plant accountable for consistent product quality.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise day-to-day quality assurance activities across the production floor, including incoming materials, in-process inspection, and final product quality checks.
- Develop, implement, and enforce quality control procedures, inspection checklists, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) specific to mattress manufacturing.
- Identify defects, root causes, and process weaknesses; lead root cause analysis (and corrective/preventive action initiatives.
- Monitor production lines to catch quality issues early, working directly with line operators and shift supervisors to resolve problems in real time.
- Maintain accurate quality records, inspection logs, non-conformance reports, and defect tracking data; report trends to plant leadership.
- Own compliance with relevant industry and regulatory standards (e.g., CPSC flammability standards).
- Train, coach, and hold production staff accountable for adherence to quality standards and workmanship criteria.
- Partner with Production, Purchasing, and Engineering teams to address supplier or material quality issues.
- Lead investigation and resolution of customer complaints and returns related to product quality or defects.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, using data to reduce defect rates, rework, and waste.
- Conduct regular audits of processes, equipment calibration, and documentation to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for quality outcomes at the plant, escalating systemic risks to plant leadership as needed.
- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance/quality control within a manufacturing environment; mattress, furniture, foam, or textile manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- 2+ years in a supervisory or team‑lead capacity.
- Bilingual, fluent in Spanish and English.
- Strong working knowledge of quality systems, inspection methodologies, and root cause/corrective action processes.
- Demonstrated ability to identify quality issues quickly and take decisive, effective action.
- Proven track record of holding self and others accountable for quality outcomes.
- Strong leadership, communication, and coaching skills; comfortable communicating in both English and Spanish with your team working on a fast‑paced production floor.
- Proficiency with quality documentation systems and basic data analysis (Excel or similar; ERP/QMS software experience a plus).
- Ability to read technical specifications, blueprints, or material specs related to mattress construction.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (Quality Management, Engineering, Industrial Technology) preferred. Six Sigma or ASQ certification a plus.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the production floor for extended periods; comfortable in a manufacturing plant environment.
