Crane Operator

Responsible for operating a stationary or traveling crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads at bridge construction sites.

• Operate the crane under supervision.
• Inspect the crane to ensure safety.
• Perform routine maintenance and carry tools for repairs.
• Understand and execute the job billing process.
• Drive the crane to worksites.
• Wear PPT safety equipment.
• Maintain the crane hoisting mechanism.
• Use lever and pedal controls efficiently and operate crane according to signals from helpers.
• Work cooperatively and courteously with others.
• Follow instructions from supervisors.
• Perform various tasks as work conditions require.
• Work within standards of accuracy.
• Operate in diverse weather conditions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• CDL Class B license.
• NCCCO or equivalent crane operator certification.
• At least 4 years of industry experience.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and ANSI standards in crane operations.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to handle objects with arms and hands.
• Physical ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, lift, push, and pull frequently.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds unassisted.
• Good vision and hearing (naturally or with correction).

• CDL Class A license.
