Position Summary
A Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician will support and oversee repair within Walmart facilities, using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and a variety of hand, digital, and power tools. Up to $8,000 sign‑on bonus may be available.
Responsibilities- Maintain and repair Walmart facility’s refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment.
- Utilize the work‑order management system to receive repair work orders to support stores, store associates, and document repair activities.
- Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
- Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
- Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by performing work according to Walmart refrigerant safety policies and environmental guidelines.
- Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.
- 2 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
- Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience.
- Type I/Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
- 18 years or older with a high‑school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program.
- Mechanical license in the city and/or state where the job is located.
Individual compensation packages are based on skill set, experience, and other factors. Eligible for bonus incentive. The hourly wage range is $23.00–$45.00. Additional premiums of $0.35–$3.00 per hour may be paid based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed.
