Salary Range: $13.00 - $16.00
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, processing, storing, and distributing automotive parts and accessories. This position ensures accurate inventory control, timely receipt of shipments, and efficient delivery of parts to internal departments and external customers while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
- Receive incoming parts, supplies, and merchandise from vendors and verify accuracy against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect shipments for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report issues to the Parts Manager.
- Accurately enter received inventory into the dealership management system (DMS).
- Label, stock, and organize parts in designated warehouse and storage locations.
- Pull, package, and stage parts for shipment to customers, vendors, and other dealership locations.
- Process returns, warranty parts, and core returns according to manufacturer and dealership guidelines.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Deliver parts to service technicians and assist internal departments as needed.
- Coordinate freight pickups and deliveries with shipping carriers.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping and receiving area.
- Follow all dealership, manufacturer, and OSHA safety requirements.
- Assist with inventory reconciliation and loss prevention efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, or automotive parts experience preferred.
- Experience in an automotive dealership environment is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of automotive parts and inventory practices preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to accurately process paperwork and electronic records.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn dealership management systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
