We are actively seeking an experienced, energetic, compassionate and dynamic fifth grade teacher to join our team and serve our Catholic community.

Job Description:

1.0 FTE position reporting to the Principal to work as the 5th grade general education teacher. The teacher is responsible for instruction and assessment in the core subjects of Math, Science, English Language Arts, Social Studies and Religion while fostering a positive classroom community. The ideal candidate has experience teaching elementary school or middle school, is organized, engaging and with a record of successfully supporting diverse learners in a classroom setting.

Qualifications:
  • Current state certification (or ability to obtain) (required)
  • Experience teaching elementary or middle school (required)
  • Practicing Catholic committed to the mission of Catholic education (preferred)
  • MA or equivalent (preferred)
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of Common Core Standards
  • Ability to communicate with students, parents and the school community
  • Experience using formative and summative assessment data to inform instruction
  • Familiarity with educational technology and learning management systems
  • Strong classroom management skills rooted in restorative and developmentally appropriate practices
Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee instruction for 5th grade and other responsibilities assigned by the Principal and Vice Principal
  • Synthesize data to support academic growth
  • Effectively communicate academic growth and progress with parents and administrators
  • Scaffold learning to support students reaching and exceeding grade level benchmarks, Common Core Standards and Archdiocesan Religion Standards
  • Work within a Professional Learning Community to support school and student growth
  • Oversee the 5th grade classroom community including social emotional learning growth and support
  • Develop and implement engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans
  • Differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Incorporate technology meaningfully to enhance learning
  • Maintain accurate and timely grading and documentation
  • Integrate Catholic values and teachings into daily instruction and classroom life
  • Prepare students for participation in school liturgies, prayer services, and sacramental life
  • Participate in school and Archdiocesan professional development as determined by the Principal and Vice Principal
  • Attend events and supervision as assigned by the Principal and Vice Principal
  • Adhere to all school and Archdiocesan policies

Compensation:

$66,644-$118,580 for a 1.0 FTE certificated teacher. Any offered salary is determined based on a predetermined salary schedule, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees and certification. For staff at a .75 FTE or above, a comprehensive benefits package will be offered including two medical plan options, dental, vision, life, accidental death and disability, pension 403 (b), HSA, FSA, sick leave, vacation, holidays and tuition discounts for dependents attending Holy Rosary School.
