This is a 5.5 hour per day, 180 days per year, Para educator/Library Para educator/Office Assistant II/Nutrition Service I position with benefits at Picnic Point Elementary. Anticipated start date is September 1, 2026.
Hours:
8:35 a.m. – 2:35 p.m.
Successful candidate will provide support in multiple areas: 0.25 hours as a para educator, 3.0 hours in library services, 0.25 hours in nutrition services, and 2.0 hours as an office assistant.
Duties include collaborating with students, families, and staff to support student success through effective interventions, assisting with attendance input and processing of required attendance documentation, including BECCA petitions, and supporting library operations through organization, collection management, and shelving of materials.
Additional responsibilities: assisting students with book selection and library use, locating instructional materials to support classroom units of study, and providing support within the Nutrition Services Department as needed.
Preferred QualificationsPreferred experience with library check‑out system, answering phones, and greeting families in the office.

Rate of PayPara educator/Library Para educator: $29.05 – $39.07/hour
Office Assistant: $29.40 – $33.99/hour
Nutrition Service: $25.33 – $29.14/hour

Assist the teacher with planning, preparation, and delivery of a quality instructional program based upon state standards, district curriculum, and effective instruction for students with diverse learning needs. Supervise students at recess, cafeteria, library, and perform crossing guard duties. May assist with implementation of special education services.
Job Summary (Library Para educator)Facilitate the efficient operation of the school library. Responsibilities include assisting with the delivery of instructional and non‑instructional activities, student supervision, maintaining the library, and operating library equipment to provide information and support for staff and students.
Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions- Assist teacher(s) with the daily supervision of students for maintaining a safe learning environment.
- Administer multiple student tests, collect and maintain diagnostic and test data, update records, and assess progress.
- Assist teacher(s) with monitoring and managing student behavior and progress; share observations with teacher(s) and other professional staff.
- Assist teacher(s) with implementation of strategies to address diverse student needs.
- Provide clerical and general classroom assistance for staff (collection, data entry, correspondence, copying, filing, preparation of materials).
- Administer first aid, medical assistance, physical support, and personal care for ill or disabled children.
- Provide physical assistance for students with special needs (feeding, toileting, lifting, positioning).
- Track and dispense authorized student medications.
- Perform crossing guard duties before and after school.
- Assist in cafeteria and recess student supervision; maintain clean environment.
- Participate in meetings and training to share information.
- Comply with District Policies.
- Maintain consistent presence at assigned worksite and work hours as specified.
