Non-Certified Surgical Technician - Operating Room

Overview

Under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technologist participates as a member of the perioperative nursing team and performs indirect perioperative tasks for pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients undergoing surgical and endoscopy procedures. The Surgical Technologist may be assigned to transport patients, provide second assisting, and serve as a technical expert for a surgical service.

• Participate as a member of the perioperative nursing team and perform indirect perioperative tasks for patients spanning pediatric to geriatric populations.
• Transport patients when assigned.
• Provide second assisting during procedures as assigned.
• Serve as a technical expert for a surgical service as directed by the team.

• Graduation from a surgical technology program.
• Upon hire:
  Washington Surgical Technologist Registration.
• Upon hire:
  National Provider BLS – American Heart Association.
• Prior experience as a surgical technologist in an acute care facility.

• Upon hire:
  Certified Surgical Technologist.
