DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of L&D/LDRP/PP/Newborn experience and a WA or compact RN license.
Details- Labor & Delivery unit with Post Partum, OB Triage, Antepartum, and Normal Newborn patient populations
- Facility performs 200-300 births per month with high risk antepartum and L&D cases
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30
- Staffing ratio of 1:1 to 1:3
- Performs vaginal and cesarean deliveries, circulates in OR, starts adult IVs, and administers blood/blood products
- Manages drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, insulin, and magnesium sulfate therapy
- Utilizes fetal heart monitoring (FHM) and IUPC placement/calibration
- Uses Epic EMR
- Float required as needed to sister facilities
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM, and NRP certifications required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in LDRP, L&D, Post Partum, and Newborn care
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC)
- Experience with anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy
- Experience assisting with high risk deliveries, circulating and recovering C-sections, and sterile vaginal exams
- Epic EMR experience required
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for submission
- Provides comprehensive labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care in a high-volume unit
- Must disclose any prior work history at any Providence facility as permanent staff, traveler, or registry/per-diem, including location and dates
- Former Providence permanent employees must be separated from the health system for at least 3 months and reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Local radius rule of 50 miles applies for returning staff eligibility
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront during the application process, as post-offer requests may not be accommodated
- Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
- First-time travelers are not required to have prior travel experience for consideration
