Salary Range: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

The Director of Ministry is a key member of the Parish Family Staff Leadership Team and reports directly to the pastor. Under the pastor’s leadership, the Director shepherds the overall vision for administration, communication, liturgy, and outreach, and leads the Parish Family Pastoral Team, which is responsible for creating, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive strategy for welcoming, liturgy, outreach, social justice, and evangelization while ensuring effective stewardship of the parish’s physical resources.

The director may also oversee one or more specific ministries.

• Collaborate with the pastor and parish staff to implement the mission of the parish, participating in comprehensive planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs, goals, and objectives, with a specific focus on pastoral ministry.
• Assist the pastor in the daily operation of the parish family, coordinating overall pastoral care and specific ministries such as communications, pastoral ministry, liturgy, and outreach.
• Build a strong relationship between parish staff and the parish and school community.
• Attend and participate in regional, archdiocesan, and national professional meetings and organizations as approved and appropriate.
• Oversee the liturgical calendar and all liturgical celebrations.
• Develop and implement comprehensive plans for outreach, pastoral, and multicultural ministries.
• Attend planning meetings related to adult faith formation, marriage preparation, and stewardship objectives, strategies, and goals.
• Ensure adherence to Safe Environment policies in ministry.
• Oversee maintenance, security, repairs, and capital projects of parish facilities.
• Ensure pastoral ministries and activities are welcoming and engaging.
• Align the budget with pastoral priorities of the parish family in partnership with the Pastor and Director of Finance.
• Create and manage a pastoral plan for parish family communications.
• Supervise parish family pastoral team members, holding regular one‑on‑one meetings and team meetings.
• Create a healthy team culture of prayer and ongoing formation, supporting the pastor in this endeavor for the Parish Family Leadership Team.
• Develop and evaluate comprehensive approaches to evangelization for adults and families in conjunction with the Director of Formation.
• Develop missionary disciples who will reach out and bring the presence of Jesus Christ to those in need, including outreach to the marginalized, parishioners, inactive Catholics, and those who do not know Jesus Christ.
• Ensure outreach to underserved populations.

• Willingness and ability to support the mission of the Church by extending the ministry of the Archbishop.
• Ability and desire to use God‑given gifts and talents in service of the local Church in collaboration with lay and ordained ministers.
• Active member of a parish/faith community and in good standing with the Church.
• Strong desire to assist with the growth of the Church.

• Undergraduate degree in ministry, theology, or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.

• Five years’ experience in parish ministry and Church management is a plus.
• Ability to facilitate meetings, primarily among parishioners, councils, commissions, and the general public.
• Possess emotional intelligence skills and the ability to build trust with the Pastor and leadership team members and parishioners.
• Demonstrate understanding, respect, and support of the Catholic Church teaching, mission, and values.
• Experience with leadership, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Possess strong initiative and a strong desire to achieve results.
• Experience and competence in standard management software tools (Microsoft Office Suite, Parish Staq, Canva).
• Experience with Human Resources activities.
• Experience working in a team leadership environment.
• Experience or familiarity with continuous process improvement.
