Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Travel Registered Nurse to provide specialized care in a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and deliver comprehensive skilled nursing care. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for attending deliveries, caring for newborns, and providing case management and treatment planning. Daily tasks include patient assessments, medication administration, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

Critical to this role is strong communication, exceptional clinical skill, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment to support patients and their families.

Edmonds, Washington, United States

Responsibilities:

- Provide specialized nursing care for Level II NICU admissions and normal newborns (32 weeks or greater).
- Attend all deliveries, including vaginal, cesarean, and high-risk deliveries.
- Manage and administer treatments utilizing CPAP/BiPap, feeding tubes, and syringe pumps.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning.
- Provide skilled nursing care and case management for patients facing serious illness or requiring specialized attention.
- Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team, providers, and patients.
- Float to other units as required to meet facility needs.

Required Skills &

Certifications:

- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (active compact licenses are honored).
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a hospital, home health, or hospice care setting.
- Current CLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications.
- Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field.
- Driver's license, car insurance, and an automobile for potential field work.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and interdisciplinary team collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills &

Certifications:

- Experience in specialized units such as Medical/Surgical, ICU, ER, Psychiatric, Labor & Delivery, PACU, or Operating Room.

Special Considerations:

- Travel position:
Previous permanent employees of the affiliated health system must be separated from the organization for a minimum of 3 months to qualify.
- Floating is required as needed; however, NICU travel nurses are not expected to care for mother-baby couplets unless they already possess the required skills and competencies.
- Must be adaptable and able to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

- Work schedule, shift types, and hours are determined based on facility needs and assigned upon placement.,
