Job Responsibilities
- Provides excellent, professional customer service to internal and external customers
- Utilizes expertise while preparing items in accordance with PCC recipes, including bakery and savory items
- Responsible for quality control to insure consistently high quality product, including overseeing use of the ovens
- Solves problems effectively and works well as part of a team
- Leads, directs and trains Central Kitchen staff while keeping everyone on task
- Ensures that Central Kitchen orders are ready for pick up on time and that no product is misplaced
- Shuts down the department at the end of the night, including turning off machines and making sure that freezer and refrigerator doors are closed
- Oversees staff and provides leadership for department in absence of manager
- Sets example for department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards
- Provides support and assistance to managers in all aspects of the job
- Oversees maintenance of equipment
- Other related duties as needed or required
- Ensures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met
- Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service
- Available to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends – schedule may change during the holiday season
- Production experience is preferred and a familiarity with specialty and prepared foods including bakery and deli production
- Basic math skills for measurement and scale functions
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to meet physical demands including standing, bending twisting, repetitive motion and lifting between 10 and 40 LBS regularly
- A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required
- If hired into this role, a Certified Food Protection Manager certification (for example Serv Safe) is required (paid for by PCC)
- If hired into this role, a CPR/First Aid Certification is required (paid for by PCC)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Additional $1.25/hour Night Differential when applicable.

- Vacation Accrual – 0.06 hours per hour worked during the first 2080 hours of employment

- Seattle Stores (BL, CD, CC, DT, FR, GL, GV, VR, WS): 0.033 hours per hour worked (Includes Union, State, and City Accrual Rates)
- Outside of Seattle Stores (BV, BT, , ED, IS, KL, RD): 0.025 hours per hour worked (Includes Union and State Accrual Rates)
