Material Handler Supervisor

The Material Handler unloads donations from containers and moves goods to appropriate production areas.

Pay Rate: $/hour DOE

Outdoors and warehouse environment; temperature varies; exposure to dust.

• Remove and sort through salvage material and garbage from salable goods.
• Sort donations into appropriate bins for further processing.
• Provide a smooth flow of goods to the production floor.
• Use cardboard compactors and identify problems.
• Maintain donor tallies.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Demonstrate safe work practices and report any potential hazards or accidents.
• Build and maintain internal and external customer satisfaction.
• Consistently execute forklift duties when certified to Seattle Goodwill standards.
• Minors are not allowed to use or perform any job duties with heavy machinery or compactors.
• Maintain reliable attendance.
• Communicate effectively in verbal and written formats, including with those who have limited English skills.

• High school graduate or equivalency preferred (but not required).
• No experience required.
• Applicants must be 18 years or older.

Seattle Goodwill Forklift certification is optional but may be required to meet eligibility requirements.

The employee will lift and carry up to 30‑40 pounds; have fine motor control; stand for long periods; bend, kneel, reach, stoop, squat, push; climb ladders; and travel across diverse surfaces.
