Position: Service Coordinator (Temporary 6 Month Term)
Location: Acheson

SMS Equipment is seeking a Service Coordinator for a temporary, full-time leave coverage term of approximately 6 months (with the possibility of extension).

The Service Coordinator provides essential administrative support to Remote Mining parts and service operations by ensuring accurate work order creation, maintenance, costing, and documentation within well‑established procedures. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, values accuracy, and wants to contribute to a high‑performing service team.

Work Location: Acheson, AB
Salary: $55,000 - $60,000 annually.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – providing the flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.
Schedule: Monday to Friday.

What You'll Do

  • Organize and file all service order documentation.
  • Maintain procedural work instructions and complete monthly checklist items.
  • Create work orders, enter required data, and prepare documentation packages.
  • Communicate work order numbers and ensure monthly work orders are prepared and shared with field personnel.
  • Collect data and documentation from customers, field supervisors, and branches, ensuring compliance with filing standards.
  • Update and maintain Work‑In‑Progress reports and escalate concerns as needed.
  • Review sublet invoices, reconcile labour and expenses, and monitor work orders for costing readiness.
  • Prepare and cost monthly work orders, obtain approvals, invoice customers, and scan documentation.
  • Track yearly purchase orders and complete requested reporting and data analysis.
  • Provide cross‑training support and perform other administrative duties as required.
  • What You Bring

    The ideal candidate will have a certificate in Office Administration and a minimum of 2 years of administrative experience in a clerical role. Equivalent combinations of experience and education will be considered. Additional qualifications include:

  • Strong computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, email, internal systems)
  • Knowledge of ISO Quality Management Systems, eXtend ERP or SAP is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational capability, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload, work independently, and exercise sound judgment.
  • This position is classified as an Individual Contributor
    role in SMS Equipment’s competency framework, requiring demonstration of core competencies (customer focus, collaboration, and technical/functional expertise).
