Location: Spruce Grove

Thompson Construction Group has an immediate opening for a full-time Onboarding Coordinator at our Spruce Grove office. This is a temporary maternity leave coverage role supporting onboarding requirements and employee mobilization to site.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage onboarding requirements for new hires to ensure readiness prior to mobilization to site
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires and ensure onboarding expectations, timelines, and requirements are clearly communicated
  • Distribute onboarding and information packages and provide guidance as required
  • Track, verify, and follow up on completion of all required documentation and courses
  • Ensure onboarding requirements are completed accurately and within required timeframes
  • Coordinate flights, accommodations, and mobilization logistics to support operational schedules
  • Communicate travel details, changes, and mobilization instructions to employees in a timely manner
  • Liaise with internal teams to support accommodation planning and workforce mobilization
  • Maintain accurate onboarding and mobilization records and tracking tools
  • Identify onboarding or mobilization issues and escalate as required to prevent delays
  • Qualifications

  • Office Administration certificate or similar education considered an asset
  • 2–5 years of experience in an administrative or coordination role, preferably within a construction, oil & gas or industrial environment
  • Experience supporting onboarding, mobilization, or workforce logistics is an asset
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required
