Role Summary
Acute Care Alberta (ACA) is seeking an experienced and strategic Lead to join the Strategic Value Office. The Lead plays a critical part in advancing complex, enterprise‑wide initiatives that support system transformation, enhance value, and contribute to the long‑term sustainability of Alberta’s acute care system. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Lead provides leadership across cross‑functional, high‑impact initiatives spanning multiple organizations, portfolios, and system partners.
Responsibilities• Lead and coordinate complex, cross‑functional initiatives to advance organizational objectives, delivering measurable value and supporting long‑term sustainability of the acute care system.
• Provide enterprise‑level leadership for integrated planning, delivery oversight, risk management, and performance monitoring across multiple initiatives and portfolios.
• Exercise independent judgment to assess competing demands, prioritize work, and adjust sequencing and delivery approaches to optimize outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with Executive Sponsors, senior leaders, and initiative leads to shape options, support governance processes, and translate complex financial, operational, and strategic information into clear recommendations for executive decision making.
• Lead sustained stakeholder engagement, support enterprise change efforts, and ensure accountable follow‑through on governance direction.
• Apply value‑based decision‑making principles to support prioritization and resource allocation, contribute to the development and evaluation of business cases, and oversee tracking and reporting of expected benefits and outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen outcomes, and optimize resource use, thereby supporting system sustainability.
QualificationsRequired:
- Bachelor’s degree in health, business, finance, human resources, or a related discipline.
- Minimum seven years of progressive leadership experience in a complex public or private sector organization.
- Demonstrated experience leading or overseeing complex, multi‑stakeholder initiatives with enterprise‑level impact and measurable outcomes.
- Strong analytical, judgment, and problem‑solving skills, with ability to influence outcomes across diverse partners.
- Proven ability to integrate financial, operational, and strategic considerations to support decision making.
- Experience supporting governance processes and translating complex information into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Proficiency in standard enterprise tools including Microsoft Office and Teams.

- Strong business acumen, including financial literacy and understanding of system‑level drivers and efficiency opportunities.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in healthcare, business, or administration.
- Professional certification in project or program management, change management, and/or process improvement methodologies.
- Experience working in large‑scale public sector or health system transformation environments.
