Video Journalist at CBC

As a key part of the English Services team, you will bring Edmonton’s stories to life, working collaboratively and using your keen judgment to navigate a fast-paced news environment. Your responsibility will include pitching, researching, writing, shooting, and editing original stories while ensuring you engage the audience meaningfully.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pitch and produce original stories for various platforms

• Respond quickly to breaking news events and deadlines

• Research internal archives and utilize user-generated content

• Present stories on-air with context and analysis

• Collaborate with colleagues on long-term coverage

Requirements:

• Five years of journalism experience in a fast-paced setting

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Excellent shooting and editing ability across digital and broadcast

• Solid understanding of Alberta’s political and economic landscape

• Flexibility to work varied hours as needed
