As a full-time News Editor/Presenter, you will guide weekday afternoon newscasts, showcasing strong journalism in a fast-paced environment.
Your role involves gathering, preparing, and presenting news while ensuring content reflects diverse voices from Edmonton and northern Alberta. You will collaborate closely with fellow journalists and contribute to compelling storytelling.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver breaking news across radio and digital platforms
• Write, edit, and package engaging news scripts
• Conduct impactful interviews on-air and off
• Self-operate the studio audio board during broadcasts
• Mentor junior journalists to uphold CBC standards
Requirements:
• Four years of experience in live news reporting
• Excellent script writing and editing abilities
• Strong news judgment and critical thinking skills
• Understanding of Alberta’s socio-political landscape
• Valid driver’s license meeting CBC requirements
