SUMMARY OF THE ROLEMammoet is seeking a motivated Assistant Controller to support our finance team. In this role, you will help oversee the financial performance of both small and large projects by accurately tracking and recording revenues, expenses, and earnings in accordance with Mammoet’s HSE, business, and quality standards. Working closely with Project Controllers, Project Managers, and Finance leadership, you will contribute to strong financial controls, accurate reporting, and continuous improvement through a collaborative and detail‑focused approach.
This will be a temporary, full-time position operating out of our Edmonton office.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOINGResponsibilities (including but not limited to)
Lead core accounting function of Accounts Payable and Account Receivables including approval of payment runs, clearings, reporting and various other requestsSupport month end and year end process including journal entries, reconciliations and analysisAnalyze financial results (P&L, balance sheet, general ledger) and provide variance analysis with actionable recommendationsEnsure timely and accurate completion of tax filings and remittances (HST/GST, PST, Withholding tax and tax provisions)Manage the capital assets ledger with additions, disposals, assets under construction, leases and etcAssist in various audits (internal and external)Assist in various ad-hoc inquiriesIdentify opportunities to streamline processes and support financial system improvements or implementations.WHAT YOU’LL NEEDEducation
CPA designation with at least 5 years of accounting experienceKnowledge of IFRS is considered an assetExperience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in branch related accounting and finance or cost controlsAdvanced computer skills specifically with MS Office productsKnowledge of intra-company billing and costingStrong management and coaching skills an assetExperience in working fast paced environment, multitaskingPrevious experience with SAP is an asset.High attention to detail, strong analytical thinking and excellent communication skills.Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlinesKey Skills
