Join Valard Construction as an Experienced Project Accountant, managing finances in Edmonton or Calgary, AB. This position is designed for professionals with expertise in project-based accounting and cost control throughout the project execution cycle.
As part of the Transmission and Substation teams, you’ll work closely with the Project Controller in overseeing project financials from initiation to completion. Key tasks include managing billing processes, month-end accruals, and project cost tracking, ensuring full financial visibility and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Track project setup, costs, and financial statuses
• Assist in the billing process and revenue tracking
• Organize month-end cost accrual meetings
• Manage change orders and assist in forecasting
• Oversee subcontractor contracts and payments
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in Finance or Business
• 3 years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong Excel data analysis skills
• Proven knowledge of accrual accounting
• Familiarity with construction revenue recognition
