Our client is seeking a Tax Manager to lead corporate tax compliance, planning, and reporting across a complex, multi‑entity environment. This role is responsible for overseeing corporate income tax compliance, managing tax provisions, supporting strategic tax planning initiatives, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in Canadian corporate tax, experience managing complex entity structures, and robust leadership capability.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the preparation, review, and filing of corporate tax returns, elections, and information filings across multiple entities.
  • Manage quarterly and annual tax provision processes in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Support tax compliance for partnerships, trusts, holding companies, and operating entities.
  • Lead tax planning initiatives to support business growth, restructurings, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess implications for the organization.
  • Manage relationships with external advisors, auditors, and regulatory bodies, including audit support and inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with indirect taxes, including GST filings and reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate tax reporting and integration with financial processes.
  • Develop and enhance internal tax processes, documentation, and controls.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to accounting and tax team members.
  • Support strategic projects, financing activities, and corporate initiatives from a tax perspective.
Qualifications
  • CPA designation with advanced tax training or equivalent professional development.
  • Completed the CPA In‑depth Tax Program.
  • 5+ years of progressive tax experience in public practice or industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian corporate tax and private enterprise structures.
  • Knowledge of US corporate tax would also be looked at as an asset.
  • Experience managing tax compliance across multiple entities and complex organizational structures.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high‑volume environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
  • Experience with acquisitions, restructurings, or multi‑entity environments considered an asset.
