Position: Demi Chef (EXPO)
We are Edmonton’s Destination Management and Marketing Organization (DMMO). We also manage two of Edmonton’s award-winning venues, the Edmonton Convention Centre and the Edmonton EXPO Centre. About the Position  The Edmonton EXPO Centre is looking for a  Demi Chef  to join our Culinary team. Under the direction of the Sous Chef, this role plays a vital part in preparing high-quality food while ensuring quality standards are achieved and supporting the successful execution of the diverse events hosted at the Edmonton EXPO Centre.

What You’ll Do:

Prepare, season, and cook foods such as soups, vegetables, and meats for safe consumption, following EXPO specifications.
Feel, taste, and examine the appearance of food prepared and cooked by kitchen staff.
Ensure the correct and timely distribution of food and products to the required locations.
Communicate with the Sous Chef regarding production schedules.
Ensure proper stock rotation in all areas of the kitchen and minimize waste.
Manage food quality and productivity by keeping detailed records.
Assist other employees when required with culinary production and banquet setup, as well as action stations.
Ensure the mise en place is ready for the next day according to expectations and demands.
Maintain a clean workstation in adherence with AHS standards.

What You’ll Bring :
Post-secondary education, with a degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management preferred.
Food Safety Certification and Red Seal certification required.
5–7 years of high-volume kitchen or banquet operational experience preferred.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to assess operations, prioritize, and multitask.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 24 kg.
Ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
