Air Division Supervisor

Overview

At RJ Mac Lean Energy Services, our goal is simple: everyone goes home safe, every day. The Air Division supports turnaround, shutdown, and project work by supplying breathing air systems and providing safety watch coverage in high-risk environments. Strong supervision is essential to execute this work safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and client requirements.

We are seeking experienced Air Division Supervisors to support turnaround operations throughout the year. This role is responsible for the direct supervision of crews, coordination of air systems and safety watch services, and ensuring work is performed safely and to standard in dynamic industrial environments.

• Supervise Air Division crews during turnaround, shutdown, and project work
• Ensure breathing air systems, equipment, and safety watch services are set up, operated, and maintained in accordance with company procedures and client requirements
• Coordinate daily work activities, manpower, and equipment based on scope and site conditions
• Lead pre-job safety meetings, FLHAs, and job planning discussions
• Ensure hazard assessments are completed, reviewed, and updated as conditions change
• Enforce safe work practices and exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions are identified
• Monitor confined space, breathing air, compressor, and area watch activities
• Maintain continuous communication with workers, operations, and client representatives
• Respond to changing site conditions, emergencies, or work scope changes
• Ensure required documentation is completed accurately, including:
  • Daily logs
  • Safety meeting records
  • Equipment checks and inspections
  • Incident and near-miss reports
• Mentor and support Safety Watch personnel and new hires
• Ensure compliance with RJ Mac Lean policies, and applicable OH&S legislation
• Perform other duties as required to support Air Division operations

• Hands-on field supervision in industrial environments
• Working outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, wind)
• Walking stairs, slopes, and uneven ground
• Working at heights and around confined spaces
• Standing and walking for extended periods
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling equipment up to 40 lbs
• Wearing respiratory protection and required PPE

• H2S Alive
• Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
• Standard First Aid with CPR/AED (Level A or
  
  C)
• Fire Watch Certificate

• Must be clean shaven when required for respiratory protection
• Ability to pass pre-employment and pre-access drug & alcohol testing
• Proven fitness for work in a safety-sensitive role
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work day and night shifts, including extended turnaround schedules
• Willingness and ability to travel and work in remote locations
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Computer and internet access for required reporting and training
• Clean Class 5 Driver’s License (required)

• Minimum 3–5 years experience in industrial safety, breathing air, or turnaround operations
• Previous supervisory or lead hand experience in industrial or oil & gas environments
• Experience overseeing confined space and breathing air operations is considered a strong asset

This position supports turnaround operations throughout the year. Successful supervisors may be retained for future turnarounds and ongoing Air Division work.
