Vice President, Business Development

Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Vice President, Business Development to lead commercial growth across Canada. This role is responsible for developing market strategy, strengthening customer relationships, identifying new opportunities, expanding business within existing markets, and guiding the national sales organization toward sustainable and profitable growth.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Contribute to the development and execution of strategic plans and annual budgets
  • Lead analysis of customers, market trends, and competitive activity
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies and sales initiatives
  • Coach, mentor, and train sales teams on modern commercial tools and methodologies
  • Enhance the capability and performance of customer‑facing teams
  • Manage key customer accounts and identify opportunities to grow revenue and improve profitability
  • Build strong relationships with executive‑level decision makers
  • Assess opportunities within existing regions and evaluate expansion into new markets
  • Conduct ongoing market research to stay current on industry trends
  • Collaborate with internal leadership and corporate functions to achieve business objectives
  • Oversee the estimating department, ensuring timely and accurate proposal development
  • Partner with contract management on commercial terms and negotiations
  • Lead external marketing initiatives, including social media presence and participation in industry events
  • Travel regularly to various locations across Canada to support operations and customer engagement
  • Your strengths include:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 10 years of sales leadership experience
  • Extensive commercial or operational leadership experience, ideally within crane, construction, or related industries
  • Knowledge of industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, mining, power generation, and civil infrastructure
  • Experience working with general contractors, EPC/M firms, and engineering organizations
  • Strong ability to drive growth through strategic insight, customer engagement, and high‑level leadership
