Opportunity:

As Triton continues to grow, we are seeking highly motivated and passionate Registered Authenticating Wetlands Professionals to join our well-established team of environmental professionals. This is the perfect position for a wetlands authenticating professional who thrives in an environmental consulting environment. You’ll have the opportunity to put your expertise to work, guiding field staff and project teams, shaping projects, influencing decisions, and delivering exceptional environmental solutions across Alberta.

Your

Impact:
  • Conducting wetland surveys, assessments, and monitoring across Alberta, applying your technical expertise to deliver accurate and reliable results.
  • Providing technical wetlands support to project teams, ensuring fieldwork and reporting meet client and regulatory requirements.
  • Offering vegetation ecological expertise to field staff and project management teams, supporting project planning and execution.
  • Conducting vegetation inventories, soil assessments, and rare plant surveys, contributing to comprehensive ecological understanding of project sites.
  • Planning surveys effectively, coordinating resources, schedules, and field logistics.
  • Preparing permit closure reports and other regulatory documentation, ensuring compliance and project success.
  • Managing tasks and projects according to approved scopes of work and schedules, demonstrating strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Liaising with on-site client representatives and contractors, fostering professional relationships and clear communication.
  • Providing independent technical review for proposals and project deliverables, ensuring accuracy, quality, and alignment with best practices.
  • Applying environmental best management practices and advise clients and project teams accordingly, supporting sustainable project outcomes.
  • Collaborating across project and corporate teams, sharing knowledge and contributing to a cohesive, high-performing work environment.
Your

Skills & Experience:
  • Registered Authenticating Wetlands Professional (AWP) designation
  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in biology, ecology, soil science, botany, or a related field
  • Professional Biologist (P. Biol.) or Professional Agrologist (P.Ag.) designation in Alberta
  • Proven experience with wetland delineation and classification and working with the Alberta Wetland Policy (i.e., preparing Wetland Assessment and Impact Forms, Wetlands Assessment and Impact Reports, and using the Wetlands Rapid Evaluation Tool)
  • Strong plant identification skills
  • Strong technical writing, reporting, communication, and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively while maintaining strong interpersonal skills
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision and applying effective problem‑solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Valid driver's licence from a Canadian province or territory acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work setting
