This pivotal role demands a minimum of 10 years' experience focusing on strati graphic frameworks within oil sands. You will mentor junior staff, lead reservoir characterization efforts, and translate complex geologic data into actionable insights that enhance mining strategies. Your work ensures high-quality models that guide drilling programs and operational decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Champion strati graphic interpretation and geological model consistency
• Develop robust sequence strati graphic frameworks using diverse data
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize drilling
• Identify reservoir heterogeneity and its impacts on development
• Continuously refine models based on new data and operational feedback
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geoscience;
Master’s preferred
• Proven expertise in McMurray Formation stratigraphy
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced proficiency in geological software (e.g., Petrel)
• Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences
