Process Development Scientist

Gilead is seeking a dedicated Scientist for its Alberta location to support process safety operations and provide guidance to process chemistry personnel. The position involves evaluating chemical processes in the lab, performing safety assessments for API manufacturing, and ensuring compliance with cGMP regulations. Collaboration with senior scientists is key to developing strategies for safe drug manufacturing and clinical studies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support site process safety operations and assessments

• Guide process chemistry personnel in laboratory evaluations

• Perform safety assessments related to API manufacturing

• Develop and improve processes for drug substance manufacturing

• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in chemistry or related field, or MS/MA with 4+ years experience

• BS/BA with 6+ years industry experience

• Experience in multi-step organic synthesis preferable

• Knowledge of thermal analysis techniques

• Strong skills in collaboration and communication
