Purpose of the Role
As a Senior Environmental Scientist / Engineer / Technologist, you will play a key role in leading contaminated site assessment and remediation programs across Alberta. This role blends hands‑on field leadership with technical expertise, mentoring, and project delivery support.
You will lead field programs, contribute to Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, provide technical oversight, and support Project Managers to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high technical standard.

This role supports a variety of environmental projects across the Cold Lake region and offers the opportunity to work on meaningful projects with a strong and collaborative team.

This position supports environmental projects throughout the Cold Lake region. Preference will be given to candidates who are currently based in, or willing to relocate to, Cold Lake, Alberta.
Candidates located in Calgary or Edmonton are also encouraged to apply, but regular travel to Cold Lake, including overnight stays, is required to support field work, project oversight, mentoring, and collaboration with local teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead environmental field programs, including surface water and groundwater monitoring, soil sampling, drilling oversight, borehole logging, monitoring well installation, test pitting, remedial excavations, and reclamation activities.
- Balance field work with office-based technical, reporting, and project support responsibilities, with an approximate 50/50 split.
- Plan and deliver Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, including field investigation oversight and results interpretation.
- Mentor, coach, and provide technical guidance to junior and intermediate team members.
- Provide day-to-day field leadership that helps drive safe execution, team coordination, quality field documentation, timely issue resolution, and strong project outcomes.
- Support Project Managers with planning, scheduling, cost control, subcontractor coordination, and client communication.
- Develop and champion site-specific health, safety, and sustainability plans in alignment with Worley standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare clear, high-quality technical reports and documentation for client and regulatory review.
- Degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Professional designation, or progress toward one, such as Environmental Professional (EPT), P.Eng., P.Geo., or P.Ag.; EIT or equivalent is strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive environmental field experience, with an emphasis on contaminated site assessment and remediation.
