Become part of IAMGOLD's exploration team as a Core Shack Technician in the Chibougamau region. This six-month fixed-term contract offers hands-on experience in gold exploration, geological mapping, and safety protocols.
IAMGOLD is seeking two local team members eager to contribute to exciting drilling programs. This role is perfect for those looking to enhance their fieldwork skills and gain invaluable experience. You'll assist in core processing, sample preparation for assay, and maintaining a tidy core shack while following IAMGOLD's strict safety protocols and using PPE diligently.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process and organize drill core samples efficiently
• Prepare samples for assay in a clean environment
• Maintain safety protocols and participate in safety meetings
• Assist with geological mapping and prospecting fieldwork
• Operate vehicles safely to support geologists
Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Valid Quebec driver’s license
• Physical capability to lift 20 kg
• Previous exploration or fieldwork experience preferred
• Basic computer literacy essential
