We are currently recruiting for a Carpenter Journeyperson to join the Buildings group at one of the various projects inEdmonton, AB!

Shifts are 5 days on 2 days off – chance to work overtime (this may include extended hours/ weekends/ or possible afternoon & night shift) if site requires.

Responsibilities:

  • Be able to comprehend blueprint readings and prepare layouts
  • Understand industrial concrete forming, be able to build concrete forms, and other structures
  • Complete rough and finishing carpentry tasks, while utilizing appropriate math skills
  • Check completed units to be sure they are level, square, plumb and the right size, shape and location
  • Building of hoarding and other temporary structures
  • Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level
  • Look for, and fix deficiencies
  • Checks accuracy of work,and makes adjustments as required
  • Studies blueprints for work planning
  • Informs immediate supervisor of abnormalities or defects and/or takes appropriate measures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • General site upkeep
  • Preference will be given to a Carpenter Journeyperson Ticket from a recognized provincial training authority
  • Non-ticketed carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial Carpentry trade
  • Certifications:

    CSTS & WHMIS
  • Ability to coach, mentor and train apprentices
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Describe and point out safety compliance and regulatory issues
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
