Duties & Responsibilities:
The Heavy Duty Truck & Trailer Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on commercial transport vehicles & trailers; ensuring all work meets manufacturer’s specifications and legislated regulations; interpreting and processing work orders; and providing performance evaluations, mentorship, and supervision to the apprentice team.
Ensure all equipment is maintained to the highest standards to maximize uptime and availability
Inspect and test mechanical units (engines, transmissions, axles, brake systems) to locate faults and malfunctions
Diagnose, adjust, repair, or replace parts and components on truck systems (chassis, frame, cab, engine & drivetrain, air brakes, steering, fuel, hydraulic, electrical, electronic)
Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components on truck-trailer and trailer systems (structural, brake, electrical)
Promote safety and quality; follow all health, safety, environmental policies and procedures
Complete related duties as assigned
What You Bring:
Heavy Duty Truck & Trailer Mechanic with minimum 5 years experience is required
Level 3 or higher is required
CVIP Certification (considered an asset)
Class 1 License (considered an asset)
Safety-first mindset; able to maintain a clean, organized work area
Proven ability to interpret work orders/technical manuals and document repairs & parts accurately
Strong diagnostics across truck and trailer systems; capable in scheduled PM and corrective repairs
High attention to detail, strong organization, and clear communication across teams
Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory standards
Ability to pass a company paid criminal record check and pre-employment drug/alcohol screening
