Position: Gas Fuser (Shallow Utility Construction)
Our Residential Subdivision, Shallow Utilities Division is currently looking to add a Gas Fuser to the team, based in Edmonton, AB.
Reporting to the Site Foreman / Superintendent, the Gas Fuser is responsible for overseeing and executing the installation of natural gas pipelines in new residential subdivisions building 4-party shallow utilities. This role ensures all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards and company policies. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, teamwork, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with the site Foreman to plan work schedules, assign tasks, and ensure proper equipment availabilityInstall and complete all main line connections and fusionsRead and interpret gas construction drawings to ensure accurate implementationInstall service tees, fittings and tracer wire connectionsCoordinate material orders with the natural gas utility to ensure timely availabilityConduct pressure testing on main lines and submit necessary documentationComplete live gas tie-insLiaise with gas utility inspectors to ensure compliance with regulatory standardsMaintaining all gas equipment and ensure calibrations are up to codeDevelop and grow relationships with utility site representativesAssist with training new gas fusion personnelOther duties as assignedRequirements
ATCO Gas Fuser or Apex Utilities Fusion certification2 years of natural gas pipe fusion work experienceStrong problem-solving skills with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindsetExcellent teamwork and collaboration skills, with a positive and professional attitudeStrong commitment to safety protocols and industry compliancePreferred Skills / Qualifications
