Job Description

Our client, a leading commercial property management firm, is seeking a permanent Commercial Building Operator to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical & electrical background and be comfortable managing preventive maintenance schedules, contractor work, and service requests. This is a great opportunity for a skilled operator looking to work in a professionally managed environment focused on safety, sustainability, and tenant satisfaction.

This is an on-site position located in Edmonton.

Responsibilities:

Operate, monitor, and maintain HVAC systems, hydronic equipment, pumps, and plumbing systems

Perform daily building inspections, safety checks, and BMS monitoring

Conduct preventive and demand maintenance

Coordinate with and oversee external contractors for building services and repairs

Manage tenant service requests through the Angus

Ensure compliance with health and safety standards

Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, plumbing, and general building issues

Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, and maintenance records

Support energy management and sustainability initiatives

Conduct fire alarm and emergency power systems testing

Qualifications:

3–5 years of experience in commercial building operations

5th Class Power Engineering license or BES Certification

Strong knowledge of HVAC, BAS, life safety, and plumbing systems

Proficient in using Angus TR/PM and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel)

Valid driver’s license required

Flexible to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
