Cameron Homes is an Edmonton based home builder where crews take off and return to their various project sites from 9705 21 Avenue, Edmonton, AB T6N 1J5.
Job Duties
As a Construction Painter, you will be responsible for the following duties:
Independently perform duties involving all aspects of preparing and applying multi-family, residential, and commercial coatings to a high standard of workmanship using various tools and materials
Erect and dismantle scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades
Mix, pour, and spread materials
Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants
Prepare, clean, and sand surfaces to be painted
Repair cracks and holes
Work both indoors and outdoors, year‑round in multi‑family, residential, and commercial settings
Operate, maintain and repair construction painting equipment
Skills Required
If you possess the following skills, you will be a great fit as a Construction Painter:
3+ years of experience as a construction painter
Proven ability to independently execute customer painting requirements
Proven ability to independently operate, maintain, and use construction painting equipment safely and efficiently
Proven ability to follow direction, work independently and as part of a team
Experience preparing and cleaning surfaces using methods such as scraping, sanding, sandblasting, hydro‑blasting and steam‑cleaning; repairing cracks and holes in walls; and applying sealer
Measure, patch and apply wallpaper and other fabrics to walls
Brush, roller and thermal spray painting
Drywall taping and patching
Experience applying paint or other materials, and mixing to obtain required colour or texture
Physically able to lift heavy items
Must be able to speak English
Ability to apply good judgment, make good decisions, and maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times
Organized with a proven ability to juggle multiple tasks and projects at once with minimal supervision
Team player and initiative
Creative with an eye for implementing design and décor trends
Ability to do small carpentry work such as removal and/or installation of baseboards, hand rails, and doors as needed during the painting job
Work Conditions and Capabilities
Additional requirements and working conditions of this position include:
Travel to different project sites in the greater Edmonton area
Ability to distinguish between colours
Kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing
Outdoor in hot/cold temperatures, including wind and snow
Attention to detail
Fast‑paced environment
Compensation
We pay $27.00 per hour for 40 hours per week, plus overtime.
