Overview
Skilled Laborer position with Norland Limited (Pacific Demolition). Join a team delivering demolition services across Western Canada, with growth potential and a focus on safety and teamwork. Based in the Edmonton region, Alberta.
Responsibilities- Cleaning and maintaining sites to eliminate hazards and keep worksites clean and orderly.
- Using necessary hand and powered tools; loading/unloading demolition materials and equipment as needed.
- Conducting Field Level Risk Assessments paperwork as required by scope/task.
- Assisting in positioning, erecting, and dismantling scaffolding, hoarding, etc. as needed.
- Assisting in sorting materials prior to disposal/recycling; performing tasks such as digging, shoveling, sweeping, lifting, carrying, and wheeling.
- Attending and actively participating in mandatory safety meetings.
- Following instructions and operating as a productive member of a high-functioning team.
- Working independently, as well as part of a team.
- Maintaining punctuality and excellent attendance.
- Promoting a work environment where safety and health of all employees, subcontractors, and individuals on sites is paramount.
- Safety knowledge and experience in demolition and/or construction.
- Cutting torch, mobile equipment, and machinery certifications are an asset.
- Experience with basic power and construction tools.
- Problem solving and time management are an asset.
- Self-motivated with ability to work as part of a team; positive work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Valid driver’s license with ability to drive within the Province of Alberta (abstract required).
- First aid is considered an asset.
- Fit to work – ability to see, hear, walk, stand, and lift 50 lbs for a full shift.
- Basic computer skills and clear communication in English (verbal and written).
- Willingness to work field environment, meet deadlines, and handle high-stress situations; frequent travel may be required.
- Occasional work outside of normal hours; may be required to work at heights, in tight spaces, or older, dim buildings; exposure to all weather conditions.
- Responsible for complying with respiratory protection requirements where applicable.
The hourly wage for this position is $22-$26 per hour, based on competencies, knowledge, skills, and experience. Norland offers a comprehensive total rewards package including extended health and dental plans paid by the company, paid time off, and RRSP matching.
