Experience:
Will train.
- Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.
- Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
- Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
- Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
- Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
- Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to required shape and size.
- Ensure electrical and plumbing installations meet government regulations.
- WHMIS Certificate.
- Apprenticeship training Level One through Level Five.
- Types of systems:
Plumbing, cold water and drain lines.
- Confined spaces, wet/damp work setting, various locations (Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, Residential).
- Physically demanding tasks: bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads.
- Requires hand‑eye coordination and accurate, efficient interpersonal skills.
- Own tools/equipment and steel‑toed safety boots.
- Own transportation required.
