Position: Heavy Duty Mechanic for Municipal Equipment

Advance your mechanical expertise as a Heavy Duty Mechanic with Parkland County in Stony Plain, AB. Support the Public Works department by diagnosing and repairing municipal transport vehicles and construction equipment.

As a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will report to the Equipment Maintenance Supervisor and leverage your technical skills for maintenance and repair tasks. This role requires a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certificate and at least five years of mechanical experience. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for troubleshooting and ensuring equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose breakdowns and perform maintenance on municipal vehicles

• Service and repair construction equipment and industrial tractors

• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors

• Attend to welding tasks as needed

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and practices

Requirements:

• Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certificate

• Minimum of five years mechanical experience

• Valid Alberta Class 3 Operator's License

• Ability to work at various county locations

• Successful Criminal Record Check upon hire
