Heavy Equipment Operator

Whissell is seeking a skilled Side Hoe Operator for our underground utilities projects in Edmonton. This full-time role emphasizes safety and quality while performing vital tasks in utility installations.

As a Side Hoe Operator, you'll operate heavy equipment for essential underground utility work, including water and sewer installations. Your expertise will be pivotal in trenching, back filling, and maintaining project specifications. Daily equipment checks and adherence to safety protocols will ensure operational success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate side hoe excavators in alignment with safety regulations

• Assist with trenching and digging activities for utilities

• Collaborate with various crews to ensure accurate installations

• Conduct equipment inspections and document findings

• Maintain a clean, organized work environment throughout

Requirements:

• Experience in operating side hoe excavators

• Ability to read and interpret utility plans

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License;
Class 3 is an asset

• Ground Disturbance Level II certification preferred

• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
